Livestock production is one of the prominent sectors in agriculture. It is a promising sector and major interest of some individuals. The need for animal protein is becoming more alarming; this has made livestock production a very lucrative agribusiness. There are several livestock animals: cattle, goat, sheep, snail and poultry birds; are the common livestock.
As the level of technology increases, several research works have been made to improve livestock production; to improve the quality of the produce. This has resulted in several modifications and variations in the livestock animals; such modifications are more pronounced in poultry birds. Commercial poultry birds have been modified such that: they matured early; they produce more eggs; they have prolific meat conversion ratio; resistance to diseases and other favorable features.
Poultry birds have been bred for different purposes; some breed produce egg, some for meat and others for both egg and meat. The above poultry bird looks strange; has it been bred for egg or meat production?
